Mechanical dimensions

All linear dimensions are in millimetres and describe the valve base and its pins. They are not socket-hole diameters.

The pin circle passes through the pin centres. Pin spacing is the straight-line distance between adjacent centres. ≈ denotes a value calculated from nominal geometry; ± denotes a tolerance, parentheses show limits and ≤ denotes a maximum.

In depth

ZP1481 uses a B2A interface without the retaining groove and the MX199/SOCKET receiver. The absence of the groove distinguishes it from other constructions with similar designations.

The connection has two mating positions. B2A can also designate wire-ended constructions, so physical form and retention must match the actual tube. MX199/SOCKET identifies a receiving product, not every Geiger-counter socket.

The contact-carrying part of the base is 26–27 mm in diameter, and contact projection is 9.5–10.5 mm. The counter's cylindrical envelope has different dimensions that are not used as socket measurements.

ZP1481 is a halogen-quenched end-window Geiger–Müller counter for beta and gamma radiation. The mica window serves the detector's function, while retention and lower contacts concern its mounting.

ZP1480 has wire terminals, whereas ZP1481 uses the rigid grooveless base. Their relationship does not make their connection systems identical.
