In depth
Telefunken LB1 and LB8 use ten receiving contacts in two groups of five. The supporting and shielding body is not another electrical contact to add to the total.
LB8 specifies receivers 1757 and 1773: the first has aluminium shielding; the second is iron and more compact. LB1 also uses 1757. They are different products for the same receiving interface.
LB2 instead specifies 1771 and remains separate. Ten contacts arranged five plus five are neither a circular Decal base nor a generic ten-pin CRT standard. Individual products' shielding dimensions and fixings do not replace mating dimensions.
Aluminium-shielded 1757 has an 80 mm body diameter and illustrated overall height of 164.5 mm. Iron 1773 reduces size with a 52 mm lower section and 135 mm overall height. These are female-product and shielding dimensions.
LB8 is a high-vacuum cathode-ray tube with electrostatic deflection. Its lower connections are in two groups of five. Contact layout and tube support must be considered separately from the shielding's outside diameter.
Two specified LB8 receivers establish two mounting constructions for this interface. They do not make 1757, 1773 and 1771 interchangeable in every installation.
