CV1423 vacuum tube: technical reference
Explore the available information on the CV1423 vacuum tube in the EnryLab technical archive.
The CV1423 is a variable-slope pentode in the British CV nomenclature, with a British seven-pin B7 base, also designated M7A. The data collected in our archive specify a 13 V, 0.2 A heater. Its variable-slope characteristic and documented link to the 9D2 family place it among valves for radio-frequency signal amplification.
Identifying it requires following the documentation's cross-references. The 1963 C. V. Register entry for CV1423 states ‘See CV1106’; the AVO Valve Data Manual, on page 207, instead lists 9D2 as the commercial equivalent. The two references converge in the Ministry of Aircraft Production specification MAP/CV1106;CV1598, issue 4 of 7 January 1946: it describes the CV1106 as an indirectly heated variable-mu high-frequency pentode, with 9D2 as its prototype and a B7 base.
A distinctive feature of this specification is that it covers CV1106 and CV1598 together while explicitly distinguishing their heater currents: at 13 V it specifies 0.2 A for CV1106 and 0.15 A for CV1598. This difference encourages careful reading of equivalence lists: membership of the same family does not make all supply requirements identical. For CV1423, the 0.2 A figure preserved in our sources is consistent with the reference to CV1106; nevertheless, the specification's limits and tests remain attributed to the designations it explicitly names.

How to use the Valve Archive
EnryLab Valve Archive allows you to search for PDF datasheets and technical documentation by entering the exact code of a vacuum tube. Enter codes such as EL84, ECC83, 12AX7, 6L6GC, or 300B to view variants, manufacturers, and documents available in the technical archive. The search uses exact matches, thus avoiding partial or irrelevant results and making it easier to find the correct datasheet.
Datasheet PDF and frequent searches
The most searched acronyms have dedicated and indexable pages, with clean URLs and linked documentation. You can start with frequent searches to quickly consult the most used valves in the audio, radio, and technical restoration fields.
