R4100 vacuum tube: technical reference

Explore the available information on the R4100 vacuum tube in the EnryLab technical archive.

The R4100 is a Zenith full-wave vacuum rectifier intended for power supplies. Our sources specify a directly heated 4 V, 1 A filament and a European four-pin B4 base. Its full-wave structure uses two anodes: in a suitable circuit, it allows both half-cycles of the alternating voltage to produce rectified current.

The 1946 Funkschau-Röhrentabelle, compiled by Fritz Kunze, documents the designation in section 7B, devoted specifically to full-wave rectifiers. In the Zenith column, R4100 appears in a group that also includes R2100 and R4100a. This grouping must be read as printed, without turning it into a single new designation or evidence that all the types have identical permissible ratings.

A further reference appears in P. H. Brans's 1950 Vade-Mecum, on page 79: Zenith R4100 is placed alongside Philips 506, with a 4 V filament specified for both. The reference keeps R4100/a as a separate entry. These distinctions help trace replacement types cited in technical literature, but do not establish the maximum anode voltage, permissible rectified current or allowed filter capacitance for every R4100 specimen: those values require specific documentation.

How to use the Valve Archive

EnryLab Valve Archive allows you to search for PDF datasheets and technical documentation by entering the exact code of a vacuum tube. Enter codes such as EL84, ECC83, 12AX7, 6L6GC, or 300B to view variants, manufacturers, and documents available in the technical archive. The search uses exact matches, thus avoiding partial or irrelevant results and making it easier to find the correct datasheet.

Datasheet PDF and frequent searches

The most searched acronyms have dedicated and indexable pages, with clean URLs and linked documentation. You can start with frequent searches to quickly consult the most used valves in the audio, radio, and technical restoration fields.
