RE234 vacuum tube: technical reference

Explore the available information on the RE234 vacuum tube in the EnryLab technical archive.

The RE234 is a Telefunken triode for which the preserved sources mainly provide identification and filament data. The detailed documentation specifies 3.5 V and 0.06 A. Another imported table instead gives 4 V: the two voltages should not be presented as though they were a single, consistent specification.

Contemporary confirmation is provided by the 1946 Funkschau-Röhrentabelle, compiled by Fritz Kunze. In section 8, comparing receiving valves, RE234 is listed under Telefunken with an explicit 3.5 V annotation. The section's introduction explains that heater and base differences are noted relative to the comparison type: these easily overlooked notes are essential to interpreting an equivalence table correctly.

For this designation, comparing the documents therefore highlights the 3.5 V filament value, also attested in the 1946 reference. It does not establish complete anode operating conditions, permissible dissipation or the introduction date. The description consequently remains limited to verified characteristics: references to related valves in comparison books do not justify automatically transferring their limits or applications to RE234.

How to use the Valve Archive

EnryLab Valve Archive allows you to search for PDF datasheets and technical documentation by entering the exact code of a vacuum tube. Enter codes such as EL84, ECC83, 12AX7, 6L6GC, or 300B to view variants, manufacturers, and documents available in the technical archive. The search uses exact matches, thus avoiding partial or irrelevant results and making it easier to find the correct datasheet.

Datasheet PDF and frequent searches

The most searched acronyms have dedicated and indexable pages, with clean URLs and linked documentation. You can start with frequent searches to quickly consult the most used valves in the audio, radio, and technical restoration fields.
