TV61 vacuum tube: technical reference

Explore the available information on the TV61 vacuum tube in the EnryLab technical archive.

The TV61 is a Dario–Radiotechnique half-wave vacuum rectifier. Our sources specify a directly heated 4 V, 0.4 A filament and a European four-pin B4 base. In a directly heated structure the filament is also the cathode; rectification results from current flowing towards the anode when it is at the appropriate potential relative to the filament.

The Philips Comparative Pocket Book for Valves, sixth edition of January 1939, lists TV61 on page 32 alongside 1802. On the same page, the neighbouring TV60 instead refers to 1801: the different final digit thus identifies two separate reference entries. V56 is also listed separately with 1802 as its reference, while the booklet preserves the original Dario–Radiotechnique designations.

P. H. Brans's 1950 Vade-Mecum, on page 90, confirms the TV61–1802 correspondence and specifies a 4 V filament on both sides of the table. This is useful for identifying the valve in replacement literature. However, the sources consulted here do not establish a maximum rectified current or a specific anode limit for TV61: these values cannot be inferred from the valve name alone or its association with another type.

How to use the Valve Archive

EnryLab Valve Archive allows you to search for PDF datasheets and technical documentation by entering the exact code of a vacuum tube. Enter codes such as EL84, ECC83, 12AX7, 6L6GC, or 300B to view variants, manufacturers, and documents available in the technical archive. The search uses exact matches, thus avoiding partial or irrelevant results and making it easier to find the correct datasheet.

Datasheet PDF and frequent searches

The most searched acronyms have dedicated and indexable pages, with clean URLs and linked documentation. You can start with frequent searches to quickly consult the most used valves in the audio, radio, and technical restoration fields.
